So essentially, I decided that what I want to do is to increase my understanding of the language of Processing and in doing so create a web based work coded in it.

For now, the exact details aren’t set, but I want to do something that involves, space, space whales and space vikings. Because those are all awesome.

I hope this eventually leads to full blown Brain-in-a-jar Robots.

So the new semester is under way, which is a good opportunity for me to begin using this blog regularly for my ‘artistic practice’. Hrm.

Still Trying to work out my self-directed work for Screen Arts, but for Project 1, I had a thought, mainly, Brain in a Jar.

The idea so far is a brain in a jar, set up in a dark corner area, so the only light comes from the lights underlighting the jar, and a flickering monitor hung above the jar, playing what appears to be memories. Attached to the jar will be a speaker, which will be speaking thoughts.

Still thinking about the meaning/actual content, but I feel like, I want the people viewing this work to be left feeling sad/contemplative/pity. Or something like that. I’m going to work on some sketches at some point. I’ll post them when I have ‘em.

The Volume contained herein will grant the reader it’s Dark Power; a malevolent power that is best left to those who do not value their morality or sanity.

It shall teach you the Fell Art of Trolling. Preying upon the weak and stupid masses of the Internet, for personal gain and lulz.

I spent the last weekend running the table for JAUWS with Khard and Flarey. This was my first time attending the Supanova convention but I have to say, aside from a few layout mixups that I had, the weekend was awesome. I didn’t have much time to sit in on any panels or things like that since I was busy with the table, but I did get a few good chances to wander around and check out all the stalls.

Loot I bought this year was quite good, I didn’t spend more than $100 on merch, so I was well behaved. The loot list:

I thought the cosplay was quite awesome, as usually I’ve only been to anime cons so I only really see anime character cosplays. Supanova was great for me because there were plenty more generic geeky cosplays, from video games/cartoons/tv shows.

Khard and Flarey, who were running the stall with me:

This was quite possibly the best part of the entire convention for me, I got to meet Jewel Staite, get an autograph and I asked her if I could get a picture of her holding my Weighted Companion Cube plushie. I also gave her one of our clubs ‘Ja-tan’ badges. I’m hoping that she’ll remember this so if she’s ever asked what her weirdest convention experience was she can say “Well, there was this time in Australia and this guy asked me for a photo of me and this toy with hearts on it…” and I’ll be able to say IT WAS ME~ :
